Our primary mission is to feed the spirit through evangelization and to feed the body through hands-on work with the poor.
Our evangelization efforts are carried out in many ways. We celebrate the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass daily, serve the needs of the local poor, run retreats and days of recollection for adults, give talks and play music at parish missions throughout the diocese, pray and witness to the sanctity of life at local abortion clinics, avail ourselves for confessions, and provide a loving presence to the community.
Through Fr. Robert's Kitchen, we currently serve a hot meal to people experiencing poverty or homelessness on Wednesdays from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
The men and women who participate in this free hot-lunch program truly appreciate the soup kitchen. Many have stated that it’s a safe place to sit down, have a warm meal, and relax. Some have said that they feel as though they are in a loved one’s home. To many, it’s the only meal they receive that is served on “real” plates with “real” flatware.
We strive to serve our guests by loving them, treating them with respect and dignity, and serving as witnesses to Jesus Christ. If you are interested in helping us live out this mission, please call 505-990-3001.
Note: Virtus training is required for all volunteers.
We are available to speak at parishes and offer parish missions on topics such as confession, prayer, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, praying the rosary, the holy Sacrifice of the Mass, and many other topics that pertain to the Catholic faith.

Youth Ministry
We have a charism for working with young people. We speak to young people about the struggles they experience in their own lives, and we talk to them about the hope there is in living a life dedicated to Christ, no matter what vocation God might be calling them to.
We are available to talk to confirmation and RCIA classes, to host confirmation retreats, and to serve in many other ministries.
Youth Retreats
Pan de Vida youth retreats and Youth 2000 retreats (cf. youth2000ny.com) are centered on Jesus Christ truly present in the Holy Eucharist. These events are offered for young people (13 to 30) and take place over the course of one weekend. These retreats are filled with prayer, Eucharistic Adoration, confession, music, and talks that center on the teachings of the Catholic Church in today’s world.
At these events, young people experience firsthand the joy of the Lord's Presence and learn about prayer, the call to holiness, the meaning of life, and God's personal love for each of them. Many conversions and vocations come from these retreats.
For more information, please call 505-990-3001.
On our Grotto Nights events, young adults (18-35) are welcome to join us for an evening of live music, food, Eucharistic Adoration, and prayer from 6p-9p in the courtyard of San Juan Diego Friary (NOTE: the food trucks only take cash).
Stay tuned for the next posted calendar events.
All young adults are welcome, and the event is free.
