CFR Mission to South Africa from 06/25/09-07/24/09

Fr. Conrad, Br. Bonaventure, Br. John, and Br. Columba are going to South Africa, where 1 in 5 young people has AIDS, for four weeks to offer a variety of inspirational retreats and conferences to young people. The retreats will take place in different towns in the Catholic Diocese of Tzaneen and will last for two, four, or six days at a time.

The retreats and conferences will focus on basic Catholic teachings such as building a relationship with Christ, the seven sacraments, the Scriptures, lectio-style meditation, journaling, moral teachings of the Church, theology of the body, practical tips on relationships, fellowship, and more. There will be many opportunities for faith-sharing, prayer and song, and adoration of the Eucharist.

Because Pope Benedict XVI recently toured in Africa, this is a timely opportunity for the friars to follow up the Holy Father’s visit with inspirational witness to our faith.

Will you please help the friars nurture the seeds of faith planted by Pope John Paul II and cultivated by Pope Benedict XVI? Your support will help spread the Gospel to the youth of South Africa.
