Adopt a Family in Need for Christmas!
At the next Friends of the Friars meeting on December 18th, the friars will be delivering food, clothing, and gifts to over 50 needy families in Albuquerque.
Please consider adopting these families
and helping the friars provide them with basic necessities as well as Christmas presents.
Donors are asked to provide the following for all members of their adoptive families:
* food (see suggested list below)
* clothing (items of greatest need are jackets and blankets)
* gifts (preferably wrapped and labeled)
* money and/or giftcards are also acceptable but
other vegetables (fresh or canned)
fruit (fresh or canned)
staples (flour, sugar, oil, salt, pepper, etc.)
yummy treats (especially for children)
other Christmas-type food from both Anglo and Hispanic traditions
Click here to ADOPT A FAMILY NOW! (<~~ link can also be used by people donating individual items only.)
You can adopt an entire family (or families) and supply them with everything they need, or you can donate individual items (toiletries, turkeys, toys, etc.) to the friars, who will distribute the items as appropriate.
On the 18th, distribution will take place at 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM. If you are interested in joining the friars to give out your provisions and gifts in person, we will let you know which time distribution will take place for your adopted family/families.
Drop off dates/times:
Nonperishable food and other items can be delivered to the friary during the week before the 18th.
Turkeys, hams, and other perishible food can be delivered to the 17th or 18th.
Items can also be dropped off between now and the 17th at the following locations:
* Incarnation Parish, 2309 Monterrey Road NE, Rio Rancho, NM; Mon-Fri 9a-12p and 1p-5p
* Dycoda Graphics, 267 Los Lentes Road NE, Los Lunas, NM; Mon-Fri 9a-12p and 1a-5p
DONATING INDIVIDUAL ITEMS
If you are unable to adopt an entire family and are instead donating individual items,
drop your provisions off at the friary before the 15th so that the items can be sorted, divided up, and wrapped. We would appreciate it if you could wrap your gifts before dropping them off, but it's not a requirement of donating.
